We are seeking a Senior EMC Design Engineer to join a global manufacturing company in the avionics industry.

As a Senior EMC Design Electrical Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of the company’s products. You will be responsible for designing and implementing EMC solutions to meet regulatory requirements and customer specifications. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute EMC Control Plans, EMC filter design including lightning and HIRF (High Intensity Radio Frequency) protection, perform RF related circuit analysis, evaluate mechanical and electrical designs for EMC Design best practices, and provide technical expertise to resolve EMC issues.

In this role, you will have a significant impact on the success of the company’s product development and compliance efforts. You will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet demanding EMC standards, minimizing the risk of electromagnetic radiation and susceptibility, and ensuring the reliable operation of our products in an all-inclusive EMC/EMI/lightning environment including those described in MIL-STD-461 and DO-160.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement new EMC solutions for products to meet regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
• Collaborate with world class cross-functional teams to develop and execute EMC design plans and EMC Design best practices in all aspects of the product design (mechanical, printed board assembly layout and routing, interconnect, signal integrity)
• Perform EMC analysis to aid the electrical and mechanical designers to meet or exceed the EMC requirements and resolve issues as needed.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to validate the need for specific EMC-related regulatory requirements.
• Meet or exceed compliance with EMC standards and regulations for our customers.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance EMC design processes and efficiency.

Requirements

U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENT

Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
• Minimum of 5 years of electrical design experience with a focus on EMC compliance
• Proficiency in EMC analysis related to EMI/EMC/lightning filtering and design at the circuit and PBA level.
• Experience in EMC simulation and modeling tools (examples include use of LTSpice, Mathcad, EMA3D, etc.)
