Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Lab Assistant to support daily operations in our busy histology laboratory near Westbrook, CT . This entry-level role is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in a clinical lab setting. You’ll play a key part in helping the team prepare tissue samples, maintain lab equipment, and ensure smooth workflow behind the scenes.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist with specimen receipt, accessioning, and labeling

• Help with the preparation and handling of tissue samples

• Clean and maintain laboratory instruments and workspaces

• Stock supplies and ensure the lab is organized and ready for daily operations

• Support histotechnologists and pathologists with slide preparation and sample setup

• Follow all lab safety protocols, including biohazard handling and disposal

• Perform clerical and data entry tasks as needed

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in a science-related field is a plus

• Prior lab or healthcare experience is helpful but not required—training will be provided

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions

• Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Comfortable with routine, repetitive tasks and maintaining accuracy

• Basic computer skills and familiarity with lab documentation

Pay & Benefits:

• Hourly rate : $18–$22/hour depending on experience
