Job Description

Overview We are seeking a full-time Aviation Program Specialist in our Scottsdale, AZ or Chandler, AZ locations. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical customer service/support related to transport category aircraft performance and weight & balance activities including supporting customer aircraft configurations, aircraft performance questions, change requests, and aircraft weight & balances changes. Essential Functions Escalates customer needs as required, directing inquiries to proper departments Supports as first-level customer contact, receiving/answering basic questions, inquiries and requests pertaining to Garmin’s aircraft performance products Ability to learn/apply program management skills on programs and projects to ensure communications, scope, effort, milestones/schedule, risk management, and strategy are aligned with Garmin’s initiatives, business model, and customer relationships Resolves, tracks and/or routes customer issues or requests Assists with providing technical support for Garmin aircraft performance and/or load planning products Supports testing and deployment of Garmin products and solutions May contribute to technical writing and publication of aircraft performance data materials May contribute to development of customer training materials Supports project management functions Investigates/determines root cause of operational events and failures with guidance Identifies issues with aircraft performance and/or load planning and support development of corrective actions with guidance May assist in coordinating internal resources to support customer needs for respective deliverables Coordinates recurring meetings with customer, documents, and maintains related documentation in an organized manner Assists with creation of status information to inform internal stakeholders of relevant program progress and issues Supports analyzing program requirements and works with internal stakeholders to establish effort estimates Communicates status of work clearly providing visibility to supervisor or mentor Works collaboratively/professionally in a team environment with other Garmin associates to achieve goals Applies Garmin’s Mission, Vision, Values and Quality Policy and enthusiastically exhibits a desire to see Garmin succeed Performs on-call duty and after hours on-call coverage may be required Supports special projects as assigned with guidance Ability to travel for customer support and training Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace, Business or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) with the demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge Operational knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) governing aircraft operations with Part 121 or Part 135 experience preferred Must demonstrate the capability to perform basic troubleshooting & debugging Project Management experience and a good understanding the project lifecycle Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others. Desired Qualifications Private Pilot’s License Strong technical skills and experience with aviation technology is a plus Previous work experience in Airline or Charter Operations, Air Traffic Control, Flight Dispatching, Flight Operations, or Aviation Program/Project Management Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
