We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Emergency Department Registrar – Administrative (Trauma Registrar) to join a high-performing Trauma team. This is a full-time, on-site position with the potential to transition into a permanent role. The Trauma Registrar plays a critical role in maintaining trauma data integrity, supporting performance improvement initiatives, and contributing to exceptional patient care outcomes.

Hours Per Day: 9hr Days; Monday - Friday 8a-5p (will be fully remote after orientation)
Pay: $28 / hour - $31/ hour Depending upon the experience
Key Responsibilities:
• Collect, abstract, and enter trauma-related patient data into the trauma registry database in compliance with national and state standards.
• Accurately apply ICD-9/ICD-10 codes and Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) scoring to clinical records.
• Collaborate with trauma physicians, nurses, and quality teams to support trauma program objectives.
• Ensure trauma data quality through validation and ongoing audit processes.
• Participate in trauma program performance improvement initiatives.
• Comply with institutional and regulatory data reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a trauma registry.
• Must have 5 years of ICD-10 coding experience.
Education:
• Associate’s degree in health information technology (RHIT) or
• Associate’s degree in another health-related field.
Certification Requirements:
• Completion of the American Trauma Society’s Trauma Registrar Course.
• Completion of Injury Scaling Course by the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine.
• Obtain CSTR (Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry) or CAISS (Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist).
