Job Description

Our client is currently seeking contractors for various roles, including full-time and part-time positions in early intervention community services, full-time early intervention classroom support.

Position Overview

Contractors will provide speech and language services, including:

  • Conducting evaluations
  • Developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Providing direct therapy sessions
  • Consulting with teachers, parents, and relevant staff

These services are carried out in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), PA Chapter 14, and Act 212.

Location & Schedule

The work location will be determined based on program needs, which may include early intervention classrooms or community-based settings. Candidates will discuss specific assignments during their interview process.

  • Work hours align with school schedules but offer flexibility depending on candidate availability.
  • There is a significant demand for services, ranging from 10 hours per week up to full-time positions.
  • Contractors will need to visit schools or homes to support children aged 3-5.
  • Compensation includes travel time between destinations, with an effort to minimize commute by keeping locations within close proximity.
  • Delaware County is densely populated, so there is substantial availability for qualified candidates willing to take on different time commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Accept and process referrals for children presenting communication disorders.
  • Conduct screenings and evaluations independently or as part of a multidisciplinary or trans-disciplinary team.
  • Identify children in need of intervention and create evaluation reports.
  • Develop, review, and revise IEPs in coordination with parents, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Provide individualized, group, classroom-based, and community-based intervention services.
  • Offer consultation on communication disorders, literacy development, and classroom management strategies.
  • Support the development and implementation of communication and literacy-related curriculum components.
  • Participate in training initiatives and grant projects focused on communication and literacy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Completion of CF Year required.
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education certification required.
  • Preferred credentials for the School-Based ACCESS Program.
  • ASHA’s Certificate of Clinical Competency preferred.
  • Post-graduate coursework emphasizing communication and literacy desired.
  • Experience assessing and working with students with special needs or developmental delays.
  • Experience developing educational programs required.
  • For positions in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program, prior experience with deaf culture and hearing-impaired students is preferred.
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license required.
  • Candidates must be eligible for clearance as a provider under both Pennsylvania and federal regulations for participation in state and federal healthcare programs.
