Executive Director/Public Health Administrator

Southern Seven Health Department is seeking applications for a full-time Executive Director/Public Health Administrator position based at the Administrative Office in Ullin, Illinois. This position requires a strong public health background, solid knowledge of finance/budgeting and grant management, excellent communication skills, and leadership capabilities. Essential Duties

The ED/PHA ensures the successful accomplishment of the agency's mission, including fiscal management, personnel administration, Public Health and Head Start programming, grants management, and strategic planning. The ED/PHA, in conjunction with the Administrators, plans, implements, directs, and evaluates all operational aspects in accordance with policies of the Board of Health and funding agencies. Responsibilities include administering, implementing, and directing nursing services, environmental health, emergency preparedness services, and other administrative programs within the Public Health Division. The ED/PHA develops and maintains effective public relations with state and federal funding agencies, local government, healthcare organizations, community partners, and stakeholders, working collaboratively with the Board of Health for the residents of the seven counties.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Preferably a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in public health, public or business administration, healthcare management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of responsible administrative experience at a senior management level within a public or non-profit, multi-service healthcare organization, including at least two (2) years of full-time administrative experience in public health.
