Summary
Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate, organized, and mission-driven
Director of After-School Programs Camps to lead and oversee our after-school and year-round programs. This leadership role is key to creating a nurturing, engaging environment where children in PreK–8th grade grow through play, academic enrichment, and personal development. The director will manage the day-to-day operations of assigned programs, mentor staff, and design innovative programs that align with City Schoolhouse’s Christian values and educational philosophy. This position reports to the Director of Childcare at City Schoolhouse.

Duties Key Responsibilities: - Program Leadership: Design, implement, and oversee after-school and year-round camp programs (Summer Camp and Winter/Spring/Fall Mini Camps), including curriculum development for enrichment activities such as STEM, physical fitness, arts, and tutoring.
- Staff Supervision: Mentor program coaches, ensuring high-quality instruction and positive student engagement.
- Student Engagement: Foster a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where students feel encouraged, supported, and inspired to learn and grow.
- Administrative Management: Oversee scheduling, supply management, and daily operations. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
- Family Community Partnership: Communicate regularly with parents, providing updates on student progress, and program activities while addressing concerns promptly.
- Christian Leadership: Model Christ-centered values, serving as a positive role model for both staff and students; actively integrate faith into daily program activities.
Notable Duties (not exhaustive): - You will pick up students by foot from Shaffner Elementary and bring them to City Schoolhouse (next door, all-weather). There they will start their afternoon with a snack, then physical fitness and free gym time, and then on to programming. You will be there to encourage and supervise the children during these activities.
- Work with Evolve502 assigned Tutors, Teachers, and other staff.
- Ensure safe child pick-up procedures are followed
- Create a clean and tidy place where learning can thrive, and people are inspired (light duty)
Requirements Qualifications: - At least 21 years old with an associate degree or better in Education, Child Development, or related fields OR High School diploma and 1+ Years of professional childcare experience
- Able to pass a background check and potential drug screening
- Adherence to Christian and Professional Standards: Must be an active follower of Christ, in agreement with the City Schoolhouse Statement of Faith, and committed to maintaining integrity, modeling Christ-like behavior, and fostering respectful, loving relationships.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to lead a team, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a safe, engaging learning environment
- A positive attitude with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Engage actively with children in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Stand, walk, and participate in physical activities for extended periods
Nice To Haves Optional Experience (Preferred but Not Required): - Experience or understanding of Montessori or Reggio Emilia educational approaches
- Experience or understanding of homeschool education
- Experience in the delivery of physical fitness, tutoring, or technology-based learning programs
- Personal hobbies or skills that can be integrated into enrichment activities (arts, STEM, sports, etc.)
Benefits Compensation Benefits: - Pay Range: $17.50 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience
