Data Analyst

Pay: $35-38/hr, depending on experience

Location: Fishers, IN (hybrid schedule)

Contract Duration: 3 month contract (potential to extend)

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with a team of Data Scientists and Data Engineers to develop innovative data science solutions solving complex business problems.
2. Help perform Data Mining, Data Wrangling, and Data Pipeline development for high-visibility data science initiatives.
3. Using statistical/automation tools to procure, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for downstream diagnosis and prediction.
4. Create SQL queries to satisfy various business needs.
5. Develop new reporting solutions, visualizations, and dashboards to support multiple business initiatives using modern BI development tools including Tableau and Alteryx.
6. Clearly convey the key insights or "story" the data reveals in a visual format that is easily understood and actionable.
7. Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the project to provide recommendations to address reporting and data needs.
8. Provide analytical and technical support for production reports and dashboards, maintenance and support of existing data sources and data integrations.
9. Help build data pipelines and curate data required to build and evaluate ML models.

Minimum Requirements:

1. 2+ years of professional experience.
2. Bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent field.
3. Advanced analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and an agile and positive mindset.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Ability to work independently, prioritize within an interdisciplinary environment that includes data scientists, analysts, business stakeholders, and consultants.
6. Foundational understanding of SQL, Python, or other similar programming languages.

Preferred Requirements:

1. Foundational understanding of data extract, transform, and load (ETL) principles and tools.
2. Understanding of data exploration, visualization, and BI tools such as Tableau (or equivalent BI reporting tools).
3. Comfortable developing SQL queries against relational databases with large, complex data sets.
4. Entry-level Python (or R) skills including understanding of common analytics-oriented libraries.
5. Foundational knowledge of predictive modeling, machine learning, and/or optimization techniques.
6. Ability to effectively present to and influence diverse groups of decision-makers including senior leadership.
7. Ability to prioritize multiple, complex projects.
