Job Description

We’re working with a respected Miami law firm that’s growing its litigation team. They handle a mix of complex civil litigation, maritime, commercial disputes, trucking, and premises cases. They offer strong mentorship, unique cases, and long-term growth.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of complex civil litigation matters, including insurance defense, maritime, trucking accidents, and premises liability.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses, with strong attention to detail.
• Conduct depositions, attend court hearings, and argue motions.
• Collaborate with partners, fellow associates, and support staff to develop litigation strategy and case timelines.
• Analyze legal issues and provide clear, strategic counsel to clients.
• Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations as needed.
• Ensure timely and accurate billable hour reporting to meet a 1,950-hour annual target.
• Stay current on relevant case law, statutes, and legal trends in Florida insurance defense and maritime law.

Qualifications :

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the Florida Bar, in good standing.
• 2–3+ years of litigation experience, ideally in insurance defense, personal injury, or commercial litigation.
• Prior experience with maritime or transportation law is a plus but not required—training will be provided.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment.
• Collaborative, team-first mindset with interest in long-term professional growth.
• Comfortable with Zoom/Teams-based interviews and virtual court appearances as needed.
